Contributions to Catholic School Community
Presented annually to a member who nurtures community life in Catholic Education and actively lives out the OECTA prayer by: “choosing knowledge over ignorance, wisdom over waste, peace over injustice, community over isolation, and service over domination.”
OUTSTANDING SERVICE TO THE ASSOCIATION
Presented annually to a member who demonstrated a long-standing commitment to OECTA and its objectives. He or she recognizes the values of the Association as expressed in one or more of OECTA statement principles: “Foster the growth of confident, competent professionals, Support our members in collective bargaining, promote spiritual growth in our members, establish and exercise our rights at all levels of educational decision-making, uild solidarity through actions that foster trust and collegiality assist our members to grow professionally by providing access to information and resources.”
OUTSTANDING BEGINNING TEACHER
The recipient is a member, in their first five years of teaching, who strives to bring Christ into the lives of students, has demonstrated a rich enthusiasm for teaching and actively seeks opportunities to share with and learn from colleagues.
INNOVATION IN PEDAGOGY
Presented annually to a member who exemplifies the finest elements of the art of teaching. He or she will be an innovator in pedagogy, one who: “…uses his or her creativity and inquiring mind to develop the rare talent of encouraging others to think, to dream, to learn, to try, to do!”
